A duo of smokey thriller chiller’s from magicmakers 10Lb. Pictures. First; fresh in from Beacon is, ‘Driven’, and from a bit further back, Phantograms, ‘Dont move”.

One of the best parts about Boiler Room is the 4th wall; all of a sudden you have the keen advantage of watching from the outside in. What is expected to be a new and exciting set of dj music from one of your favorites, is now reflected through a well lit and rarely super pumped exclusive crowd of boiler room hardcores. There in lies the ultimate question, the set may sound all well and dandy, but is the crowd bringing it to the next level? An occurrence we have all experienced at one point or another. Well this is a brief compilation of some of the great moments, with proper funny bloke analysis as well.
The feature presentation hype is a little more then I care for, but the cool, casual release of the soundtrack, well now, thats right up my alley. I just got my hands on it, and hot damn! the whole things just fancy! More so, the lineup is going to blow your socks off! Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Beyonce, Land Del Rey, The XX, Florence and the Machine, SBTRKT, will.i.am, and more!!!! And more like swing, orchestra, and boogie! Now I have less trouble justifying seeing the film!
I think we can all agree Weird Al set a bar for parody music that is virtually unreachable. There have been some notable instances along the way, for one, Jon La Joie definitely had a good thing going but its hard to stay serious about your music when the content is so absurd. Enter Lil Dicky, he literally doesn’t even remotely make me think he’s struggling to keep it together, this is him, seriously.
Nowness brings this surreal short covering an all black rodeo in Oklahoma. What Matters Most films out of L.A. does the documenting, joining up with Flying Lotus to score the stirring piece. I also came across this slightly older FL piece that is equally dark, you may recognize the lead character. Shorts on Sundays: Wildcat [...]
Bonobo has been redefining downtempo, post-dub, since pre-dub! and as always, with this new album, his clean, fluid sounds tease the line between groove and dance, and anyone familiar with his catalogue knows hes been teasing that line for longer then most. In an exciting, and non characteristic move he brings in the talented Grey [...]
The Red Door is am amazing underground space that has hosted some of the greats for over 35 years, it is in need of your help, so give a little for what the heart and soul of NYC is all about!
My true appreciation for hip hop has been sheltered within a quiet nostalgic niche in my soul since the glory days of the Beasties, Wu, Hova, and/or the West Coast G’s. I of course have casually appreciated all the things that have fallen in between now and then like, Cisqo, and T-Pain, but this song, [...]
